Laura is the manager of the Childline centre, Wynberg.
Although this takes up a large part of her time,
she also makes sure that she remains actively involved
in the counselling work done at the centre.

Tina has a degree in psychology and social work
and works as a social worker for Childline. She
is mainly involved in counselling children who have
been victims of sexual abuse and rape. As well as
this, she deals with referrals for bereavement counselling,
and for trauma debriefing. Most of the latter involve
victims of sexual abuse and rape. click

She has recently started a support group for the
mothers of children who have been sexually abused.

Lee-Anne works as a counsellor and community worker
for Childline. She is passionate about the need
to prepare children adequately before they go to
court to testify in cases of alleged child abuse.
She also gives workshops in pre-schools, as part
of Childline’s outreach education programme.

Michael is a university student, doing a Masters
degree in Psychology. He is a LifeLine counsellor,
facilitator and supervisor.
I've just completed the first year of my masters.
Next year I'll do my internship at Groote Schuur,
and after that I'll be sent out into the field,
to do community work. I don't know where that
will be, but as I'm single and have no kids, it's
likely to be somewhere pretty remote.
