World AIDS Day in Cape Town 2008

LifeLine/Childline Western Cape was represented at a World AIDS Day event at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. The event was organised by the Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management at the University of Stellenbosch.

According to Mpho Modise, manager of the Khayelitsha Centre for LifeLine/Childline Western Cape, and head of the HIV and AIDS lay counsellor programme, “World AIDS Day is an important day because it takes away the stigma from people and also it empowers those living with the virus. I felt that Lifeline played an important role on that day, and I gave the people a lot of information about how Lifeline operates.”
