LifeLine/Childline Western
Cape introduced this programme into its core services,
in response to violence and crime in the country.
The after-effects of violent incidents can be
distressing and disabling and have a crippling
effect on work, relationships and home life.
Intervention to prevent these effects is not
a luxury, but a necessity.
Individuals or groups who have been exposed to
natural and manmade disasters, accidents, crimes
of violence (e.g. mugging, rape, hijacking, murder,
terrorism, assault, robbery, etc.) need to go
through trauma debriefing in order to prevent
physical, emotional and social problems from developing
later on.
Both individuals and companies have approached
us to do victim empowerment or trauma debriefing
with people who have experienced trauma from violence
of any sort. We have a team of fully trained counsellors
who are much in demand. The service is offered
to individuals, groups and businesses.
Call the LifeLine/Childline
Western Cape’s Cape Town office on 021 461 1113
if you would like to find out more about this
vital service.
